futureMerton Team
futureMerton is the newly formed regeneration team at
Merton council and is responsible for three key areas
of work, all of which have an impact on the quality of
life for Merton's residents, visitors and businesses.
These areas are Strategic Planning Policy & Research,
Placemaking & Public Realm and Regeneration,
Investment & Renewal.
Strategic Planning Policy & Research
This team focuses on developing strategic planning,
climate change and transport policies for the borough
as well as monitoring and forecasting demographic
information to plan for the future of the borough.
Placemaking & Public Realm
The Placemaking team are focused on improving
the quality of the environment, urban design and
architecture in the borough – all of which has an
impact on the quality of life of residents and perception
of investors in the borough.
Regeneration, Investment & Renewal
This team deliver the borough’s economic
development strategy and seek to promote job growth
and a vibrant local economy. The team also work with
a wide range of partners to secure investment in
Merton’s town centre and business areas.
