Adur and Worthing councils provide a full range of services to support business needs.
If your business is considering moving premises or improving your commercial property then
Economic Development can offer support to locate new commercial premises, and Development
Management offer pre-application planning advice. The Policy Planning team can provide
detailed guidance on development briefs and transport. Building Control can provide advice
on National Building Regulations. The councils’ Estates Team manages the councils’ land and
property portfolio and periodically offers leases for industrial, office and retail properties. The
Regeneration Team manages a portfolio of regeneration projects and can provide advice on town
centre and seafront concessions.
Once you have established your business, our Business Rates Sections can advise you on the
level of rates payable and the methods of payments available. The councils’ Commercial Waste
and Recycling Service can provide you with an affordable, regular and environmentally friendly
disposal method, along with a confidential waste service. The Environmental Health Team
can offer advice and support regarding licensing, food and occupation health and the Pest
Control Team is available to address any pest issues.
The Adur Town Centre Manager works with town centre businesses across the Adur area to
encourage town centre development and provides advice and support regarding local events
and markets. The Community Wellbeing Team provides wellbeing advice and services and the
Safer Communities Team works to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
