Manor Royal – big and well connected
The Manor Royal Business District is one of the largest
business areas in the south east and a key economic hub
in the region. It provides the employment foundation for
Crawley and the wider Gatwick Diamond area.
Covering 539 acres, it offers approximately 8 million square
feet of developed commercial floor space and is home to
more than 500 businesses providing jobs for 30,000 people.
It lies to the north of the built-up area of Crawley, within
five minutes by road from Gatwick Airport, the motorway
network (M23) and Crawley town centre. It is well served
by rail and within easy reach of the cities of London to
the north and Brighton and the coast to the south. Its
strategically advantageous position and excellent transport
connections have been factors in Manor Royal’s continued

largest non-retail BID in the UK following the successful BID
ballot outcome that was announced in May 2013.
The Manor Royal BID provides the platform for businesses
in the area to work together and deliver area-wide
improvements and initiatives to benefit their business
and staff.
The positive impact of the Manor Royal BID includes;
membership of the award-winning easitNETWORK to
reduce the cost of commuting, improved security for
peace of mind, the creation of new open space with the
development of Crawter’s Brook People’s Park, cost-saving
initiatives, focused networking and training events, area-
wide improvements to broadband and more.
The BID has also been able to attract an additional
£1.1 million in funding to support its activities and further
improve the area.
