Sevenoaks District Council is a Seriously Different
Council, as the first financially self-sufficient
Council we no longer rely on Government funding
to deliver our services. In order to do this, we have
purchased local office blocks, a garage and shops.
By investing in the local economy we can preserve
important space for businesses and stimulate
growth and development.
We have recently built a new car park to serve
Sevenoaks Station and are now developing another
car park site to create additional spaces to serve
the town.
In August 2018 we have built a new 83 bed
Premier Inn hotel as an investment to boost our
Visitor Economy and generate income to maintain
the District as a great place to visit, work and
do business.
Quality, value for money, innovation and entrepre-
neurial spirit are at the heart of what we do, and as
a result we have won a variety of awards, including
the top Guardian Public Service award, The Local
Government Chronicle ‘Council of the Year’ and a
host of other national and public sector awards.
