Brent Council’s Wembley
Works Initiative
Local opportunities for local people.
In the past year Wembley Works has placed over 350
local people into work with more than 50 employers.
Wembley Works prepares and equips local residents to
secure and sustain employment opportunities created
by regeneration projects in the borough. We collaborate
closely with a wider network of community-based
partners throughout Brent so our opportunities reach
all of Brent's communities.
‘I was unemployed for more than a year and
made countless job applications. Then I was put
in contact with Wembley Works. My confidence
grew. Applications quickly turned into
assessments, which soon became interviews.
Then I received a full-time job offer working
as a chef at a new hotel in Wembley. It was
an amazing feeling to be told I’d got the job!”
Kadeisha Morris,
Commis chef at Novotel London Wembley
Local people for local businesses.
"As a company we focus so much on
people and it's great to spend time with
Brent Council who obviously share the
same beliefs."
Mike Parnham, Operations Manager,
Las Iguanas
"The quality of your screening appears to
have paid dividends for us and I cannot
thank you enough for providing such quality
applicants. The support from Brent Council
has been unrivalled compared to other
recruitment drives I have done across the
country and we are truly grateful."

Local people can make your business grow.
We are committed to supporting local businesses find the
very best people to grow.
Our residents make Brent unique. They possess local
knowledge, skills and passion and are shaped by the
communities where you do business. Placing this at the
heart of your business will make it like no other. Wembley
Works helps employers harness this talent.
Working with employers across sectors including hospitality,
retail and administration, Wembley Works has filled high
volume vacancies in a number of regeneration projects
across Brent, including Wembley Stadium and the London
Designer Outlet amongst others.
We help businesses match their requirements and needs
to the skills of Brent residents.
What are the benefits of working with Wembley
Works?
Our community based partners provide wide coverage of
the borough, helping us to identify suitable candidates from
the local area.
We run a rigorous screening process that is tailored to your
requirements. This can involve preparation workshops,
group tasks and one-to-one interviews.
We work closely with our partners, Brent Start and the
College of North West London, to deliver employer-led
bespoke training courses for candidates. We will work
with you to understand you recruitment needs and unique
brands to tailor bespoke recruitment drives.
In return we expect guaranteed interviews for all of our
shortlisted candidates and where possible a commitment
to offering work experience, traineeships and apprenticeship
opportunities for Brent residents.
Our support continues beyond the recruitment stage.
In partnership with you and Brent Start, we will deliver
a mentoring programme that aims to equip all of its
candidates with the skills and means to progress and
sustain meaningful employment whilst in-work.
We can also help facilitate your recruitment needs by
providing space at Wembley Works or Brent Civic Centre.
Who we can work with?
We want to support and help businesses across Brent.
We prioritise opportunities emerging from regeneration
projects and larger employers, however whenever possible
will support smaller Brent businesses too.
