Skills for Employment
Brent Start is for anyone who wants to learn new
skills, to help them get into employment, find a better
job or improve themselves. It is also so employers can
benefit from the very best highly-skilled workforce.
There is a wide choice of courses, many of which lead
to nationally recognised qualifications.
We offer a range of high quality vocational training in
areas such as accounting, IT, business administration,
health and social care, working with children, and hair
and beauty, with most courses leading to nationally
recognised qualifications.
We want to continue working with local employers
and deliver a range of bespoke work force
development and in-work progression training.
We also can support you to offer traineeship and
apprenticeship opportunities.
Whatever career aspirations, Brent Start is committed
to helping Brent residents succeed and progress a
chosen career path, whilst supporting Brent businesses
to have access to a skilled and relevant workforce.
All learners attending our vocational courses get a
package of support, including careers advice, route to
work plans and workshops on CV writing, interviews
skills and looking for work.
Traineeships
Traineeships offer exciting work-based programmes for motivated
young people. They provide the opportunity to train with an
employer and get a qualification whilst gaining valuable skills.
Traineeships are a mixture of on the job and off the job training.
We offer Level 2 traineeships in:
• business administration and finance
• child care
• customer service
• food production
• health and social care
• hospitality and catering
• IT and digital media
• retail
• warehouse operations
